Bob leaves behind his wife of 65 years, Frannie; his children: Randy (Sharon); Lesley (John); and Bradley (Rattana); grandchildren: Mollie, Teo, Colin, Namfah, and Caitlyn; and granddog, Jupiter. He also has cherished extended family and friends across the country.
After attending Cass Technical High School in Detroit, Bob earned his BS and MA in Physics from Wayne State University. For many years he worked in Information Technology and taught math and science at Central Connecticut University and the University of Hartford. He was also employed as the Assistant Director for Operations in the Undergraduate Admissions Office at Yale University.
Bob was inherently curious about the world and an avid reader. He loved all kinds of music, art, dance, pop culture, sports, math, science and history. Since his college years, he was fascinated by special relativity and the physics of the atom. His natural inquisitiveness influenced his children and grandchildren to pursue their own life passions.
His family plans to have a private ceremony to celebrate his memory.
To honor Bob, his family encourages donations to the Tuscaloosa Public Library, the Goodspeed Opera House, or the Florence Griswold Museum.
