

NORTHPORT | William Riley (Bill) Hembree, Jr., age 85, of Northport, died June 16, 2014, at Hospice of West Alabama. Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Arbor Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. Leroy Curry officiating and Sunset Funeral Home, a Dignity Memorial Provider, directing.
He was preceded in death by his parents, W. R. Hembree, Sr. and Connie Hembree; son, William Ray Hembree; sisters, Dorothy Succier and Hyacinth Authur; and brothers, Harvey, Elmo and Max Hembree.
Survivors include his wife, Ann Bryant Hembree; daughters, Carolyn Banks (Dale), Dorothy Ledbetter, and Kathie Rice (Bobby); son, John Steven Hembree; sister, Linda Hembree; brother, Arnold Hembree (Eloise); grandchildren, Johnny Hembree, Kim Hembree, Lacy Hembree, Vickie Howard (Rusty), Jack Hall (Donna), Jason Hall (Angela), Gene Talley (Theresa), Vince Talley, Shannon Corbell, Scott Corbell (Jackie), and Andrew Sexton (Alison); 18 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
William was born August 1, 1928 in Reading, Ohio. He retired from B.F. Goodrich and served in the Army Air Corps. He was a loving husband for 68 years, a loving father and a hard worker. He loved farming, fishing, and hunting animals. Daddy we will miss you but we will see you again in Heaven.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers are Hospice of West Alabama, retirees of B.F. Goodrich, and the Ladies of WOM Arbor Springs Baptist Church.
