The family will receive guest on Thursday, February 24, at 12:00 - 1:00 pm at Sunset Funeral Home with the Celebration of Life Funeral Service's following. The final resting place is at Sunset Memorial Park.
Mr. Townsend was born January 5, 1948 in Berry Al. The son of Lucius and Itaska Townsend he was the ninth of 10 children.
Mr. Townsend is survived by two sons William Larry Townsend Jr. and Chris Townsend; 5 Grandchildren, Magen Templeton, Taylor Moorer, Payton Townsend , Gavin Townsend and Cayden Townsend; 4 Great Grandchildren, Liliana Gregory, Jordan Templeton, Paisley Templeton and Koby Templeton.
Mr. Townsend retired after working 21 years at BF Goodrich. He loved the outdoors especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed being around his family, and loved to sing, especially gospel music .
