Jacob Joseph Hill died unexpectedly on February 11th, 2018, at the age of 25 when his father in law’s Cirrus VK-30 airplane crashed in the hills near Santa Clarita, California. Jacob, along with his wife Amber Hill, his stepdaughter Madison Hastings-Saxelby, and his father in law Thomas Hastings, were all onboard and lost their lives in this tragic event. Jacob is survived by his mother Sandy Bowers, his stepfather Jeffrey Bowers, his father Michael Hill along with his wife Laura, his brothers Joshua, Jeremy, and Jaydon Hill, sisters Rayna Buel and Danae Hill, his brother in law Tim Buel, as well as grandparents and many other adored family members and friends.
Jacob was born March 26th, 1992, in Glendale, California. He earned his GED at The Simi Valley Adult School in 2012. Jake enjoyed many different careers, including construction and working with his father, Mike Hill, in the auto and home stereo industry. His favorite job was with LiteGear, a lighting technician company where he was able to work alongside beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members and dear friends for over two years. He especially loved having the opportunity to be the lighting technician for the indie film titled In Residence, directed by his brother in law Tim. He married Amber on July 25th, 2015, and both she and Madi were his entire world.
Jacob knew how to walk into the room and grab everyone’s attention, how to make people laugh until they cried, and made sure his family and friends were his priority in life. More than anything, Amber and Madison filled his life with joy and motivation to be the best man he could be. They were a
beautiful family and will be missed greatly by so many.
Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24, 2018 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 19851 Sherman Way, Winnetka, CA 91306 (Facing Sherman Way between Winnetka Ave. and Corbin Ave). All are welcome to attend and celebrate Jacob’s life.
