On October 04, 1921 Margaret was born to Elizabeth Claire Bennett Owens and Marion Lewis Owens in Montecello, Arkansas.
She was their second child, Samuel Marion Owens being the first and Elizabeth Lewis Owens Haas Clark being their third.
At an early age, her parents were divorced and the siblings were separated. Samuel went to live with his Uncle Lewis and Aunt Louise where he stayed until adulthood. Both girls stayed with their mother for a while and eventually were back with their father. Her father had remarried and gave Margaret a half brother, Charles Stacey Owens, and a half sister, Shirley Louis Owens Tullis. After her mother remarried, to Russell William Gibson, both she and her sister returned to live with them in Indiana.
As a teen, and through her early adult years, Margaret worked as a clerk at G.C. Murphy's Dime Store in Indianapolis, Indiana. One day, while riding the bus to work, she met Olin Earl Patrick Inman who just happened to be the driver. She and Olin were married on December 12, 1949 at City Hall in Noblesville, Indiana.
Their first child, Patricia Sue, was born on May 31, 1950. On January 22, 1952 they welcomed Diana Louise and on March 16, 1954 they welcomed Margaret Marie. On September 02, 1955, Sandra Kay was born and then came Marsha Lynn on October 30, 1956. After the five girls came her only son, Michael Wayne, born June 30, 1958. On October 17, 1959 she welcomed Betty Jo, her sixth girl.
In approximately 1956 Diana became ill. After a few years, the doctors informed Margaret that Diana would not survive another winter in Indiana. Her sister had relocated to California and encouraged Margaret and her family to do the same. Selling almost everything they owned, they loaded seven kids in the back seat of a 1957 Mercury and headed for California. They arrived in Van Nuys on October 04, 1960.
In 1963 Olin, her husband, was in a automobile accident that left him with debilitating injuries. At this time Margaret became Mother and Father to her seven children. She also became a grandmother for the first time in 1967. After ten years of declining health, Olin passed on January 09, 1973 leaving her a single parent with four children still under the age of eighteen.
Another blow was delivered to Margaret, when on June 23, 1991, her daughter Sandra died at the age of 35. At that time she gladly accepted the raising of two of Sandra's three children and became Mother and Grand Mother to them both.
Margaret was 94 when she joined her daughter, husband, brother and sister, father and mother, friends and loved ones. She will be remembered as someone who loved her family, cooking, insisted on cooking Thanksgiving dinner complete with pumpkin pies, having her nails painted, playing slots in Las Vegas, her coffee in the morning, and her roses in the front yard. Her home was always a safe haven when times were tough and the place where everyone wanted to gather. Despite the challenges and set backs that life presented her, she met each and everyone with strength and determination. If she was ever afraid, it never showed, all the way to the end. She leaves behind six children, fourteen grand children and 12 great grand children.
