Ann Segal

She was born in Bozrah, CT on Nov 20, 1922 to the late Harry and Nadia (Evanowski) Baran. Ann graduated from N.F.A. in 1940 and worked as a Secretary at the former American Thermos Company. On July 10, 1961 in Florida, Ann married her beloved husband, Dr. Julius Segal. He predeceased her on March 15, 2014.

Ann loved life and was an avid reader also enjoying playing bridge and golf and was a member of the Pautipaug Country Club. She will be remembered for her loving kindness shown to all and her presence will be greatly missed.

She is survived by two beloved sisters; Sophie (Sue) Mercik, Elizabeth (Betty) Forader and several cherished nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, Ann was also predeceased by her sister Mary Kozersky.

The family would like to thank the staff of Backus Hospital and Norwichtown Rehab & H.C. and especially Ann’s dear caregivers, Olga and Pedro Ayala for the exceptional compassion and care provided.

A Graveside Service will be held on Monday, Feb 5th at noon at Brothers of Joseph Cemetery in front of the former Norwich State Hospital property, Preston, CT.
