David L. Schoon, MD passed away peacefully on May 4, 2026. His wife of 39 years Mary Ann (Dwyer) Schoon was at the bedside. He was born on Oct. 23, 1945 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa to Leonard and Naomi (Van Fleet) Schoon.
David graduated from the Carver Medical School of the University of Iowa in 1971. He was a Captain in the Air Force from 1972-1974. He practiced pediatric medicine in the Norwich community from 1981 to 2016.
Dr. Schoon was an avid reader, a Civil War buff and interested in all things space. He also loved hiking and climbing in the White Mountains and ballroom dancing.
His biggest passion in life was taking care of children. He was happiest in his office seeing the Norwich pediatric community.
