

Preston-Edward Leon Fish, 73 of Preston Connecticut passed away unexpectedly at his home on April 12th, 2022. He was born in Norwich on October 30th, 1948 to the late Leon Edward and Edna May (Morse) Fish.
He married Catherine (Wiese) Fish on May 25th, 1972 in North Stonington at the North Stonington Congregational Church. They were approaching their 50th wedding anniversary.
Besides his loving wife, he is survived by his children and their spouses, Wayne, and Michelle Watson Fish of Norwich. Catrina (Fish), and Paul Ritchie of Oakdale, Amber (Fish) Thomas of Charleston Rhode Island, Coral Fish and Eric Lamb of Lebanon Connecticut. Ed is also survived by his grandchildren who lovingly called him “Pepa”. Jeremy Paul Ritchie, Hannah Elizabeth Ritchie, Lynzee Marie Ritchie, Emmit Joseph Thomas, Noah David Thomas, Elias Edward Thomas and great granddaughter Madelynn Marie Ritchie. Edward is survived by his siblings Elizabeth Berthod of Canterbury, Edwin and Judith Fish of North Stonington, Elaina and Norman Millette of Preston, Edna and James Kuzia of Bozrah, sister-in-law Gina Wiese of Preston. Ed was an uncle to many nieces and nephews; and great nieces and great nephews, who affectionately called him “Uncle Eddie” and he loved them all. Along with his many cousins that he loved spending time with, a very special thank you to Russell and Neil Holland for always being there. Ed is predeceased by his in-laws Ernest and Virginia Wiese Sr.. Gerald Berthod, Ernest Wiese Jr., Leonard and Deloris Wiese Sr..
Ed was a proud veteran of the United States Army, retiring in 2008. Serving in Germany, AVCRAD 1109th and Kuwait; Ed proudly served his country with honor and pride, receiving many rewards throughout his military career. He worked for Coastline Construction for many years. Ed was Ford man through and through, he loved his Triumph motorcycles and his Mack trucks. Ed was an avid believer in the second amendment and responsible ownership. He loved spending time on the family farm, and planting anything he could, especially trees. You could always find him down at the barn tinkering around with his many projects. Ed loved cooking, especially for those around him. He also loved a good cup of coffee and conversation. You were always greeted with a smile and a “Howya doin?’.” He will be missed immensely.
Family and friends may visit Church and Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich on Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at the North Stonington Congregational Church, 89 Main St., North Stonington. Burial will immediately follow at Poquetanuck Cemetery.
