James B. Craig, 75, of Moodus Ct, entered into eternal rest on Thursday September 5th, 2019, with family by his side in Middlesex Hospital.
James was born on June 10th 1944 in Buffalo, NY to James Craig and Charlene Periot. He attended St. Mary’s School for the Deaf in Buffalo, NY. He was retired from his position as Crisis Intervention Specialist at the American School for the Deaf in West Hartford, Ct., and for the past 4 years served as Sacristan for My Fathers House Retreat Center in Moodus, CT
He was a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees and Buffalo Bills. He enjoyed his summers spent in Old Lyme, Ct with family and friends. He cherished his years spent in Pulaski, NY at the Salmon River with all his “Brothers” in the Salmon Silencers fishing group. He served for 18 years as the President of the Greater Hartford Club of the Deaf in East Hartford, Ct. where he made lifelong friendships. He loved to bowl every Thursday with his friends from GHCD.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judith(Salemi) Craig, his daughter Sally Rollins and her husband Robert Rollins, , his son Patrick Craig and his wife Sarah (Harmonay) Craig ,a daughter in law Susan Craig, two granddaughters Cassandra Caster and her husband Jacob Caster and Marina Eggleston and her husband Mark Eggleston, and many family, friends and fishing brothers. He was predeceased by his son, James Craig Jr. and his 3 siblings, Robert, Lynn and Sharon.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Bridget of Kildare Church, 75 Leesville Rd, Moodus, CT on Saturday, September 21, 2019, at 10:00a.m.
