Janet Ann (Dean) Savignac (6/9/55-10/26/19) passed away peacefully with her three children by her side after a long, hard-fought, two year battle with the awful disease we call cancer. She was 64-years-old. She was born to William, Sr. and Rouletta (Martell) Dean in New London, CT. Janet is predeceased by her two sons, Timothy and Earl (EJ) Savignac, Jr., as well as her sister, Barbara Miller, twin sister, Judith Petrowsky, nephew Glen Tatro and her parents.
Janet is survived by her two daughters, Shelley and son-in-law, Kyle Linevitch; Lisa and son-in-law Jeff Nicolosi; and son, Carl Blackburn. Janet is also survived by the people that brought her the most joy and kept her fighting the most, her 13 grandchildren: Corrine (and husband Phillip) Kyle, Jr. (and wife Megan) , Thomas, Lacey, Jeffrey, Jr., Timothy, Jr., Kellsea, Nickalis, Mason, Kristofer, Alexander, Brandon, and Cameron and her 4 great-grandchildren: Emmalyn (the light of her life), and Asher Kenyon, Juliette and Rosalie Linevitch, as well as many nieces and nephews, sisters Nancy (and brother-in-law Glen), Carol, Joann and brother William, Jr.
Janet was a hard-worker. She worked her entire life up until the very moment she got ill, which over 30+ years was spent working at Federal Paper Board/Caraustar Customs in Versailles, CT and eventually retiring from Stop & Shop.
She was a HUGE Red Sox fan and in typical fashion, would want anyone to win, but the Yankees! She loved country music. She was as stubborn as could be and was incredibly selfless. Up until the moment she got ill, she would attend as many things for her grandchildren as she possibly could. She wouldn’t miss anything they were doing, if she could help it. She loved supporting them in anyway. All she ever wanted was for her children and grandchildren to be happy.
Janet will be so incredibly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was truly one of a kind! Her family takes comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering.
There will be no services at the request of Janet. If you should wish to pay tribute to her, please watch a Red Sox game or go for a walk on a windy day. You’ll find her there. Donations may be made to: The Harry & Helen Gray Cancer Center, in Hartford, CT. Please visit www.churchandallen.com to leave an online tribute or condolence.
