Janet was born on December 26, 1932, in Norwich, Conn., the daughter of the late Geno and Dolores Peccini.
Janet will be remembered most for the bright light she shared with everyone she met through her profound kindness, warmth, and genuinely friendly nature. Her children and grandchildren feel deeply blessed to have received her gentle and abundant love and to have shared so many meaningful moments together.
Self-motivated and filled with boundless energy, Janet pursued many activities and hobbies. She was especially talented as an artist, calligrapher, and floral designer, and she delighted in sharing her creations with friends and family, always hoping to bring a smile to those she loved.
That same energy was poured into her passion for gardening, which brought her great joy and earned her a reputation among her loving neighbors on and around Bayberry Hill.
After retiring at the age of 60, Janet continued to serve God by dedicating her time to her beloved church, Saints Peter and Paul. She embraced many roles there, but especially cherished working alongside her friends in the Altar Society, where she tirelessly worked year-round to decorate the church for masses and special celebrations.
Janet was happiest when surrounded by her children and grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to join in the fun and play right alongside them.
Janet is survived by her son Robert and his wife Sarah; her son Stephen; and her daughter Cindy and her husband Rich. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren Ben, Liam, Morgan, and Ella; her siblings Joan, Barbara, Norman, Dolores, and Marie; her brother-in-law Ron and loved family friends Sze-Man and Cookie.
She was predeceased by her husband of 42 years, Robert Stone, and by her first daughter, Jean Marie, who died shortly after birth.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff and nurses at Odd Fellows Home of Connecticut, whose care and kindness brought great comfort during Janet’s stay.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 181 Elizabeth Street, Norwich, CT, on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be private. A reception will follow the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Janet’s memory may be made to Saints Peter and Paul Church to support the church and its Altar Society.
Her family will forever carry forward the love, warmth, and gentle spirit she so freely shared
