He was born in Norman, OK on May 6th, 1970 to Robert G. Franklin and M. Cheryl (Fisk) Franklin. After completing high school, Kevin entered the US Navy making it his career for 21 years. He began his military career as a submariner however, found his niche on surface destroyers fighting the rampant piracy occurring in the Mideast.
Kevin was known for his quick wit and good attitude which positively influenced so many. Never focusing on himself, Kevin gave to so many as an EMT & Firefighter on the Gales Ferry Fire Dept. He travelled extensively skiing the Swiss Alps, indoor skiing in Dubai and following his hero, Dale Earnhardt Sr. until the time of his passing but keeping NASCAR as his passion. With all his interests and desire to help others, nothing came before the love he had for his son Blake.
Kevin is survived by his mother; Cheryl Hair-Bailey and her husband Paul, his father; Bob Franklin and his wife Nancy, his son; Blake Franklin, sisters; Christine Franklin Simpson and Tiffany Clary, Blake’s mom, Melissa Franklin, and many other extended family members.
