Lawrence William Mackie

Lawrence W. Mackie May 30, 1924-July 24, 2015 Uncasville - Lawrence William Mackie 91, of Uncasville passed away July 24, 2015 in Uncasville. He was the beloved husband of Anastasia B. Mackie who predeceased him in May. He was born May 30, 1924 in Norwich son to John and Mary Mackie. Mr. Mackie was U.S. Marine veteran serving in WWII. He was employed by the State of Connecticut DOT for 32 years until his retirement . He was a member of the VFW Post 594 of Norwich. Mr. Mackie loved gardening and fishing. He is survived by a son and daughter in law William and Janice Mackie of Oakdale, two grandsons Brian J. Mackie of East Hampton, and William A. Mackie of Jupiter Florida, as well as four great grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday July 29 ,2015 from 9:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m. at the Labenski Funeral Home 107 Boswell Avenue Norwich followed by a Mass of Christian burial on Wednesday July 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church 52 West Town Street Norwich.
