Lillian C. Stone

Lillian Costella (Bailey) Stone, of Hanover Road, left this world on January 1, 2025 at Mystic Health Care in Mystic due to health complications. She was born in Hempstead, NY on February 21, 1933, daughter of the late Thomas John Bailey and Amanda Ada (Major) Bailey McClease. Lillian was a long-time homeowner and resident of Scotland, CT where she resided with her husband, Clarence E. Stone, Jr. (predeceased). Mrs. Stone was a a member of the Norwich Seventh-Day Adventist Church for many years. Lillian Stone has been a foster parent for over 40 years where she cared for more than one hundred children. She worked with the Veteran's Administration, handling administrative duties, until her career was impacted by an auto accident. She proudly earned her Bachelor’s degree a short time later and alongside her youngest son, Daniel E. Stone (predeceased) pursued a career as a real estate investor. Lillian is survived by her sons, Michael N. Jimpson (with his wife, Sheila), Charise S. Stone, Jade Stone Henderson, Anthony D. Stone, Mark E. Stone and Jazmine Stone. Lillian Stone was predeceased by her husband, Clarence E. Stone, Jr., brother, John W. Bailey, sons Andrew R. Stone and Daniel E. Stone, sisters-in-law, Catherine (Stone) Mitchell and Agnes M. Stone, and Brother-In-Law, Carl “Mack” Stone. She is survived by a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Friday, January 24, 2025 at 11:30am at the Norwich Seventh Day Adventist Church, 400 Harland Road, Norwich, CT. Interment will be at the Maplewood Cemetery, 184 Salem Tpke, Norwich and at the convenience of the family. The Church & Allen Funeral home are entrusted with Lillian’s arrangements.
