March 11, 2024 we will celebrate the life of Marjorie Jean Adams. On the night February 27th, 2024 just after bedtime Marjorie, also known as Margie, Mom, Grandma & Great Grandma passed peacefully in her sleep. She has moved on to now be with her husband Lucky, as well as other family members like her sister Diane, brothers Billy and Wayne and beautiful Alisa.
Marge lived a full 90’s years of life, her birthday being July 17th, 1933. As a young woman she enjoyed roller skating among other activities. Marge met Lucky at the roller rink and they married on August 2,1954. While traveling as a U.S Navy Family she was able to see much of the Country and also spent time in Japan.
Finally settling down in Ledyard CT, Marge was devoted to her family. She really enjoyed hearing how all the kids were doing, extremely proud of the large family she created. Chatting on the phone with family members, and celebrating Christmas when everyone came to visit and eat. She loved to prepare meals and hot tea or coffee for guests. Watching her kids, grandkids and great grandkids playing baseball at the field, going to lunch, concerts, the movie theater, bowling and of course shopping were some of her activities. Marge was a member of the Ledyard senior Center and also volunteered for the Elder Friends program to read to the elementary school kids. Her time, thoughtfulness and generosity spread.
Today She leaves behind a large family that she loved and who will miss her dearly. She's survived by her sister Marilyn, brother Colin, daughter Dolores and son Robert. She's also survived by her grandchildren Erin, Raymond, Kimberly, Kayla and Arianne and her great grandchildren Franklin, Pixie, William, Oliver, Finley and Nova. Her nephews Mark, Chris & Wayne Jr. as well as her nieces Kimberly and Michelle. Several extended family members as well.
Margie and all the absolute pure love and attention she has given all of us will be paid forward to others we cross paths with.
Visitation will be Monday March 11, 2024 from 9:00 am until 10:30 am at the Church and Allen Funeral Home 136 Sachem St. Norwich followed by A Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church Gales Ferry. Burial will follow in Avery Stoddard Cemetery Ledyard.
