Mary was born July 10, 1930 in Westerly, RI, the daughter of the late William and Violet (Swain) Lord.
She was married to the late Theodore A. Suleske who passed away in 1994. Her son Robert T. Suleske passed away in 2004.
Mary is survived by her daughter Mary A. Ciezynski of Salem, sisters Madge Wisniewski of Montville, Muriel Chappell of Plainfield, Margaret “Peggy” Hewitt, brother Jim Lord, by her grandchildren Brian T. Ciezynski and wife Kelly Ann of Montville and Melissa Rose Wood and husband Alexander of Canterbury and by her great grandson Liam Wood.
She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her son Robert Suleske, brother William “Bill” Lord, sister Ellen Kasper, nephew Harold “Hal” Babcock, and sister Paulette Reed. Betty’s brother Robert Lord of England passed away August 18, 2020, just six days before her.
Betty was a big Bingo fan. She went to the local Firehouse Bingo games, Mashantucket Bingo Hall and any place Bingo was played. Her sisters and other family members joined her at Bingo often. Betty was so proud of her grand kids Brian and Missy and spent much of her time with them growing up and at many family events.
Betty was loved by everyone who knew her. She had a contagious laugh and a loving smile. She will be dearly missed by all.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Patrick in Norwich on Wednesday, September 16, 2020 at 10 a.m., meeting directly at the Cathedral. Burial will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery, Depot Rd., in Montville.
