Phyllis Ross

Nancy was born in Niles, OH on January 6th, 1952 to William Morris and Dorothy Shorthouse. She graduated from McKinley High School and then graduated from Trumbull Memorial Hospital’s three year nursing program. She moved to Ledyard, CT in 1989 to be closer to cherished family members. Nancy began work at William Backus Hospital as a registered nurse and was an employee there for over 20 years. She also worked as a RN for the Norwich Orthopedic Group.

Nancy had one son, Ian Sudimak, who misses her dearly. Her sister, Arline Huckle, her nieces and nephews, Amy Huckle, William Huckle, Jeffery Huckle, and Lori Huckle, and her great-nieces, Isabel and Megan Huckle, all miss her very much as well. Nancy’s furry children miss her too.

Nancy had a sense of humor born from years in the healthcare setting where she helped countless people heal and continue their lives. She had a deep love for family, laughing, and animals of all sorts. Her spiritual sense was important to her as well. She has left a void in many lives which memories barely fill.
