Robert A. Silva Sr.

Silva- Robert Alden Silva Sr. 86, of Norwich beloved husband of Claire Silva died Friday July 22, 2016 at home with his family by his side. He was born in Waterford Ct., son of the late Frank and Elizabeth (Smith) Silva .Mr. Silva was an outside machinist at Electric Boat for over 30 years until his retirement. He was a Yankees fan, a Giants fan, a hard worker, and a puzzle maker. Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Robert Alden Silva Jr. and his wife Laurie, Diana Breyette, Lawrence Silva and his wife Deb, and William Silva. He also leaves 11 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren, as well as a brother, Joseph Silva of Ga., 2 sisters Elaine Recanati, and Beverly Newman both of Preston. Besides his parents he was predeceased by a brother Frank Silva. Visitation will be Monday July 25, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at the Church and Allen Funeral Home 136 Sachem Street Norwich. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday at 10:00 a.m. at the Leffingwell Baptist Church 338 Salem Tpke. Bozrah. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery Norwich.
