

Born Ruth Rose Rothberg in Hyde Park, MA on Sept. 7, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Max and Emma (Goldberg) Rothberg, and had 7 siblings, all of whom predeceased her.
Ruth grew up in the greater Boston area and in early 1941 was married to the late Arthur James “Jim” Scott of Medford, who later served during WWII in the US Army. During the 50’s, the couple had two children and settled in Norwich in 1964 when Jim became Editor of the Norwich Bulletin’s Sunday Courier Magazine.
During the 70’s, Ruth founded and operated Ruth Scott Realty, a real estate enterprise that thrived under her direction for more than 20 years. Ruth followed her passion for travel with dozens of world-wide adventures. Later in life she also married the late Frank Sisk of Old Lyme and the late Benjamin Paster of Norwich. She was a longtime member of Brothers of Joseph Synagogue and the Norwich Woman’s Club.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Morgan (Scott) Hassenmayer of New Haven and son, Jeffrey Scott of Manchester, granddaughter, Tara Swanson of Minneapolis, Minnesota, numerous nieces and nephews and sister-in-law, Ann Rothberg of Bakersfield, CA.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, May 13th at 11am at Church & Allen Funeral Home, 136 Sachem St., Norwich, CT with burial immediately following at Norwich Hebrew Benevolent Cemetery Assoc. #2, 14 RT 12, Preston, CT.
