Samuel Chinigo

Sam was born in Norwich, CT in 1932 to Joseph & Mary Marchese Chinigo, and has been a lifelong resident. He is predeceased by his wife Dorothy, who he was happily married to for 53 years.

A U.S. Veteran of the Korean War, Sam retired from Norwich Public Utilities, and will be remembered for his sharp wit, the twinkle in his eye, and his willingness to help others, especially his family. Friends & family always looked forward to Sam & Dot's summer picnics and Christmas gatherings.

A jack of all trades, Sam enjoyed gardening, carpentry, and home projects. It seemed like there was nothing he couldn't fix, and the yard always had an abundance of flowers for family & friends to enjoy.

Sam is survived by his son Samuel J Chingo Jr. and his wife Kerry of Preston, their 2 children Gabriella and Mason, son Anthony Chinigo of Norwich, and daughter Gina Chinigo of Norwich.

He was also predeceased by 8 siblings, Daniel Chinigo, Michael Chinigo, Frederick Chinigo, Marie Chinigo Taylor, Frank Chinigo, and Rose Chinigo, all of Norwich, Joseph Chinigo of NC, and Angelina Chinigo Peabody of CA.

Burial services will be Friday Dec. 11, 2020 at 10:00 am at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
