
Tammie L. Young, 59, of Waterbury, passed away suddenly on March 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering devotion to her family and to those she served throughout her life.
Born on July 5, 1966, in Rocky Mount, Virginia, Tammie was the beloved daughter of Harry D. and Betty L. Young. From an early age, she carried a deep passion for music, her voice, warm and unmistakably beautiful, became one of the many ways she shared her light with the world. Whether singing for others or simply filling her home with melody, music was her constant companion and a reflection of her generous spirit.
Tammie dedicated her entire career to caring for others, serving as a nurse with compassion, strength, and an unshakeable commitment to those in need. Her work was more than a profession; it was an extension of her heart. Countless lives were touched by her kindness, her patience, and her ability to bring comfort during life’s most difficult moments.
To her family, she was a source of strength, laughter, and unconditional love. To her friends, she was a bright presence whose warmth could fill any room.
She is survived by her children, Tristan L. Young (Veronica), and Chelsie E. Young; her cherished grandchildren Cameron Young (10), Kadence Young (7), and Kaleb Young (1); and her siblings Harry D. Young Jr., Shelbra J. Young, Wayne D. Young, Steven R. Young (Sherry), Frankie D. Young, her niece Samantha E. Young and great niece and nephew Julianna and Jaden.
For all who knew her, Tammie’s spirit, generosity, and radiant light will be forever missed and remembered.
A Homegoing Celebration will be held at Living Faith Christian Church (69 Prospect Rd, Waterbury, CT 06706) on April 11th, 2026 at 10:00am.
