Timothy Cooper

Timothy Michael Cooper Sr. of Jewett City, Connecticut, passed away on August 26, 2025. He was born August 17, 1966, to Walter Albert Cooper III and Nancy Louise Peterson Cooper, both of whom preceded him in death.

Timothy will be remembered for his kind heart and sense of humor. His laughter was contagious, and he was always willing to help anyone in need. A devoted father, he loved his children deeply and was known for his strong work ethic. His motto “You gotta keep the faith,” resonated with many and he had a multitude of friends and supporters who encouraged him throughout his life.

He leaves behind his beloved children: Timothy Michael Cooper Jr. of Groton, CT, Ashley Rose Cooper of Norwich, CT, and Cameron Avery Cooper of Seymour, CT. He is also survived by his granddaughter Cadence Lambert of Griswold, CT and his siblings Laurie Miller of Baltic, CT ; Walter Cooper IV (a.k.a. Sonny) of Norwich, CT; Thomas Cooper of Plainfield, CT; Desiree Cooper of Yantic, CT; and Sean Cooper of Taftville, CT.

Timothy's cherished nieces include Tara Francis, Jessica Francis and Shannon Austin and his nephews Cody Francis and Michael Austin, who preceded him in death in 2024. He is also survived by the mother of his children Colleen (Downey-Cooper) Lemieux and his sister-in-law Kathleen Austin.

Timothy will be fondly remembered for his amazing dog, Wrath, who was his loyal companion and best friend.

A Celebration of Timothy’s life will be planned at a later date, with details to be announced. In the meantime, please feel free to leave condolences or messages and the family asks that they be respectful.
