

Betty Curry Frink, 93, passed away on November 23rd, 2024 at the NYS Veteran’s Home of Oxford. The daughter of Jay Curry and Lena Ferguson Curry Holt, she was born on October 5, 1931. Her childhood school years were spent in Morris, South New Berlin and Gilbertsville, NY
On November 2, 1947, Betty married William Frink. They were married for 61 years and spent much of their married life in Norwich. During their retirement years, Betty and Bill spent 9 winters in Lady Lake, Florida and summers in Norwich. After wintering in Florida they adopted a pomapoo puppy named Lucy, who became their loveable and faithful companion.
Betty worked for the Norwich Knitting Mill, Togs, GLA and the Norwich City Schools Cafeteria, with her favorite job being that of stay-at-home mom to 4 wonderful children.
Betty enjoyed crafts, sewing, crocheting, cooking, baking, in which she mastered all of them, and collecting recipes. She sewed and crocheted quilts for each of the grandchildren, as well as crocheting a quilt for a Norwich High School Marching Band fundraiser, of which she was proud of.
Betty was a kind woman who was always thinking of others. She loved to play cards, go bowling, dancing and gardening. Betty loved music, especially when it was country music written and sung by her son Wayne or opera sung by her granddaughter Jessica. Her loving smile and infectious laugh will be greatly missed.
Betty is survived by her son Wayne (Ann Marie) Frink, of North Syracuse, NY; her daughters, Susan (Gordon) Barkley, of Norwich, and Lisa (Michael) O’Connell, of Beaver Dams, NY; her beloved grandchildren, Michaela Keener, Jacquelyn Frink, Thomas (Elizabeth) Frink, Jessica (Robert) Hoople, Cole (Bethany) Barkley, Brayden O’Connell (fiancé Anna Grafton), Jarrett and Curtis O’Connell; her great-grandchildren, Dylan, Donovan, Jackson, Olivia, Theodore, Victoria, William, Owen, Grace and Ava, her sister, Kathy (Jerry) French, of Norwich; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Betty was predeceased by her husband, William Frink in 2009; her son, USMC PFC1 Richard Frink (Vietnam); her infant daughter, Sharon Frink; her sisters, Chloe Deforest, Ruth (Marlin) Brown, and Helen (Leonard) Brown; her brothers, James (Irene) Curry, and Donald (Kathy) Curry, as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.
The family of Betty Frink would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of the former UHS Senior Living Center and the NYS Veteran’s Home of Oxford for all the care she received over the years.
A funeral service will take place at 2:00pm on Sunday, December 1, at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 N. Broad St. Norwich with Pastor Mary Rublee officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00pm until the time of service.
