Daniel F. “Dan” Meyer, of Plymouth, passed away at home after a hard fought battle with numerous health issues on Saturday, December 30, 2023 with his loving wife by his side. He was also predeceased by his two brothers; his granddaughter, Elaina Parker; his two best friends, Guy Beckwith, and Bob Casse; and his feline boy, “Barney”.
Dan was proud of his employment on the Long Island Railroad, accomplishing the position of electrical supervisor and remained there for 31 years, retiring in 1986. Upon his retirement, Dan moved to Plymouth and became very involved in the community. He was instrumental in the plans for the new Plymouth Fire Department and was a town board member for 18 years. Dan was very well known in the area, everyone recognized his big blue Toyota Tundra as he ran errands for those who needed him and picked up parts for Guy’s Auto. He was labelled as the “Roadrunner” as he was seen heading into Norwich several times a day. Dan was friendly and always willing to stop and visit, he sure did love to talk!
Dan is survived by his wife of 35 years, Beverly; his daughters, Tammy (Richard), Dana (Mike); his son, Danny (Kerry); 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; his brothers in law, Rocky, and Randy (Diann); and his two feline “boys”, Jamey and Junior.
