Joe was born on May 7, 1960 in Middletown, NY the son of Raymond J. Onorati Jr. and Mary (Sue) (Fleming) Onorati. He grew up in Middletown and Duanesburg where he was a graduate of the local high school. Joe was a 38 year veteran of the New York State Police and retired as a Sr. Computer Program Analyst out of the Albany area.
Without any question Joe was an amazing person. First he was a son who had a wonderful upbringing by his parents which contributed greatly to his life. Second, he was a wonderful father to his 4 children, 2 children of Tammy and 3 foster children who he loved and admired greatly. He gave them the guidance they needed to be the adults they are today and finally he was the love of his companion’s life, Tammy Pierce, and she was his.
Joe was a man with a heart of gold, putting his thought and feelings aside to help anyone. He would be there at a moment’s notice if someone needed help. His humble and caring ways were second to none. He found great enjoyment in his ability to teach, especially children, and was a fan of all sports which he coached over the years. Joe was an avid hunter, fisherman, traper and had a passion for the outdoors. There was a spot in his life for the arts and music in which he found contentment.
It is truly difficult to sum up Joe’s life but for those of you who were fortunate enough to have him as a friend, you and only you, know him well. This world has lost an individual who was loved by many, will be greatly missed and not forgotten.
Joe is survived by his parents Raymond and Mary (Sue) Onorati Jr. of South New Berlin, sister Donna (James) DeLand of Cayuga, brother Mark (Shelley) Onorati of Duanesburg, the love of his life Tammy Pierce of Cincinnatus, children Samantha Onorati of SC, Ashley Onorati and fiancée Kevin Sheroka of Glenville, NY, Joshua and Noah Onorati both of Duanesburg, NY, Tammy’s children who he cared for Holly and Shane and 3 foster children Amanda, Amber and Brooke and grandson Calder.
