He was born May 1, 1947 in Norwich, the son of Julius L. and Mary L. (Walton) Hendrickson.
Living in the Oxford area for most of his life, Robert worked for 35 years on the kitchen staff of the NYS Veteran’s Home at Oxford, providing assistance in all aspects of kitchen operations. After his retirement, due to chronic ailments, he made his home at the Bida Home in Oxford.
In his leisure time, Robert enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, and enjoyed a good lunch from Burger King. He held a passion for vintage cars, especially Ford vehicles, and model cars. He enjoyed country & western music, and had accumulated a wealth of knowledge on the various stars of the genre.
Robert is survived by his siblings, Richard Hendrickson of Greene, Michael Hendrickson of Norwich, James (Connie) Hendrickson of Alta Vista, VA, and Helen Anthony of Oxford, as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents, Julius and Mary Hendrickson.
Visitation will be held Saturday, August 13 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at R.J. Fahy Funeral home, 116 N. Broad St., Norwich. A funeral service will immediately follow at 12 p.m. with the Rev. Joel Weck, of Calvary Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will immediately follow the service in Mount Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
