Susanne Rice, 65, of Norwich passed away on Friday April 26, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was a lifelong resident of Norwich, the daughter of the late Thomas and Angelina Benenati. Survivors include her husband of 31 years, Thomas Rice, of Norwich and her daughter, Tonya O’Shields, of Charlotte, NC. Susanne graduated from Norwich High School and earned her Associates Degree at Morrisville College. She was a loan specialist for Beneficial Finance for over 20 years before transitioning to a career with the NYS Compensation Board as a clerk, retiring after 14 years of service. She enjoyed camping and motorcycling and will be remembered for the dollhouses she built and sold in her shop in Norwich. A celebration of Susanne’s life will take place at a future date.
