Charles Frederick O'Halloran

Charles Frederick O’Halloran, 77, of Norwood passed away unexpectedly on July 30, 2021. He was born in Prince Edward Island, Canada on February 11, 1944 to Frederick and Agnes Gertrude (McCarthy) O’Halloran.

Charlie was passionate about ice hockey, agriculture and farm animals. He was an avid member of the Canadian Club, and always enjoyed a good lobster supper. A devoted parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Norwood. Former owner of O’Halloran’s Meats & Provisions, and later in life owner of Charlie O Painting. He had a fond appreciation of art & artifacts. He organized multiple fundraisers for those in need and always had a kind smile & handshake for everyone he met.

Charles is survived by his ex-wife Kathleen; loving children, Mary, Stephen, Colleen, and Colin; his adored grandchildren, Rourke, Connor, Mason, Keira, and Camryn; his sisters, Doris Wernig and Frances Malone; and aunt, Rita McCarthy. Predeceased by his son, Kevin; brother, Ivan; and parents, Frederick and Agnes Gertrude.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 4, 2021 at Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood, from 4 to 8pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, August 5,2021 at 11am at St. Catherine of Siena Parish, Norwood with interment to follow at Highland Cemetery, Norwood.

Kathleen and family,

I am sorry to read about Charlie and am very sorry I was unable to pay my respects in person. I fondly remember all of you when my kids were small and I had chance to speak to Charlie a few times over the years. My sincerest condolences to the entire O'Halloran family for your loss. It has been many years since I last saw Charlie but I have great memories of him. He would come to neighborhood and family gatherings, go
ice skating with us while watching out for the younger ones... such a good, kind man.
I will continue prayers for his family and may he rest in peace.
