Janet M. (Spang) Dunne, of Walpole, formerly of Dedham and Dennis, was peacefully reunited with the love of her life Robert M. on Sunday, April 27, 2025. Janet was the daughter of Philip J. and Alice S. (Higgins) Spang of West Roxbury. She loved being the youngest sister to her siblings, Philip Spang, Elizabeth (Spang) McCarthy, and James Spang and we know she is happy to be reunited with them in heaven.
Janet was a proud mom, Grammy, and GG. She was the devoted mother to Judith and her husband Kevin Delli-Colli of Virginia, Robert Dunne Jr. and his wife Beverley of Peabody, Linda Dunne and her partner Steven Slowe of Dennis, and Kerri and her husband Tree Bryant of Walpole. Cherished grandmother of her “lambies” Daniel Delli-Colli and his wife Jaime, Kathryn Belcher and her husband Nick, Brian Dunne, Maureen Dunne and her husband Demetri Tsonis, MaryCatherine Dunne, Sarah Dunne Kozik and her husband Jeremy, Liam Bryant, and Alice Bryant. Along with her beautiful great grandchildren, Nora, Logan, Isabelle, and Robby.
Janet loved to share all about her family and how proud she was of each and every one of them. She always had a dog treat ready for her grandpups and any other dog she might come across. Janet was proud of her years working at the Boston Globe and American Red Cross.
There was nothing Janet loved more than a glass of white wine with ice, being at the beach, reading a book, painting, having a lobster roll, being in her garden, and most of all spending time with her family, especially Sunday night dinners. Even as Alzheimer’s slowly took away small pieces of her, she never stopped asking about being with her family. Her last day was spent surrounded by love with her entire family.
Her family wishes to thank the staff at New Pond Village in Walpole for the compassionate and thoughtful care given to Janet.
