Mary T. Beardsley

BEARDSLEY, Mary T. (O'Donnell) a long-time resident of Norwood, passed away on Wednesday February 25, 2026, she was 84.

Born in Galway Ireland, Mary was the daughter of the late Michael F. and Margaret (McDonagh) O'Donnell. Mary emigrated to the United States at the age of 16. She was a very talented knitter and donated many of her creations to charity for the good of others. Mary was a member of the Dedham Moose Lodge #189 and the Boston Irish Social Club in West Roxbury for many years.

Mary was the devoted mother of Maureen and her husband Keith Hedrick of Weston FLA, and Robert Beardsley and his wife Robyn of Norwood. She was the sister of Michael O'Donnell and his wife Mairette, Colin O'Donnell and his partner Shirley Wheatley, Kathleen and her husband Peter Naughton, Sean O’Donnell and his partner Moira Govan, Brid and her husband Tom McDonagh. Mary was the proud grandmother of Margaret and her husband John Doherty, Felicia and Mercedez Ortiz, and the late Shaena Beardsley Stover, Justin Beardsley, and Marissa Ortiz. She is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Immediate Services and Interment at Highland Cemetery in Norwood are private. Arrangements are in the care of Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood.

A Celebration of Life will be held at The Dedham Moose Lodge 189, 79 Lower East Street, Dedham on Tuesday March 10, from 1 - 3 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend.
