

Paul John Caron of Norfolk, passed away suddenly on April 25, 2025, at the age of 71.
Paul leaves his wife of 48 years, Donna (Mellon) Caron, three children and their spouses as well as eight grandchildren. He was the father of Gregory Caron and his wife, Maria, of Hollis, NH; Brenda McDonough and her husband, John, of Fairfield, CT; and Andrea Nouss and her husband, James, of Old Greenwich, CT. Paul enjoyed time with his eight grandchildren: Jack, Abby, Savannah, Phoebe, Daphne, Reid, Louise and Margot. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews.
Paul was the son of the late John P. Caron and Margaret (Flaherty) Caron of Norwood. He was the brother of Michael Caron and his wife, Cheryl, of Walpole, and the late Maryellen Lennon-Arms and her husband, Matthew Arms, of Norwood.
Paul was a member of the class of 1971 at Norwood High School, a 1976 graduate of Northeastern University, and earned his master’s degree from CW Post, Long Island University.
Paul spent many years on active duty in the United States Army and retired as a Major in 1994. He was especially proud of his years as a master parachutist and rigger in the 82nd Airborne Division at Ft. Bragg, NC. His service included a three-year tour in Germany and several assignments in the USA.
After retiring from the US Army Paul became a CPA and worked for various big consulting firms implementing Oracle software. He then went on to become a VP at State Street Corporation for many years until retirement.
Paul was a man of many talents and there were no home improvement tasks he wouldn’t tackle. He had woodworking skills and built a sandbox, doll beds, shoe racks, picnic tables and a locker system for his grandchildren. He would tile a backsplash, install bathroom fixtures and throw in a floor for his family. He painted, landscaped and fixed cars.
Paul was always a fitness enthusiast. He swam laps at the pool, walked the neighborhood routinely and rode his bicycle many miles. He especially liked riding scenic bike trails with Donna on his e-bike.
A Visitation will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rt. 1A) NORWOOD on Monday May 5, from 10:30-12:30 PM, with a Funeral Service in the Funeral Home at 12:30. Interment will be at Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton.
