Conroy, Teresa (Carroll) of Norwood (born in Gort, Ireland), passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on June 17, 2018 in her 100th year of life. Born in Gort, Ireland, Teresa emigrated to the United States in 1939 where she worked as a domestic. She married her husband, Joe, in 1949. Teresa & Joe lived in Norwood where they raised their 6 sons. Joe passed away at an early age, and although times were tough Teresa always made sure her boys had enough to eat and received plenty of love. She continued to send money to her mother and sisters in Ireland and always gave to those in need.
Teresa loved to dance and listen to Irish music. Her house was always full of family & friends, she welcomed everyone and no one ever left hungry.
She was the heart of her family and always there for whomever needed her. She was extremely proud of her six boys and was a loving “Binkie” to her eight grandchildren & twelve great grandchildren.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph Conroy. Loving mother of Kevin Conroy and his wife Janet of Wrentham, Brian Conroy and his wife Kathleen of Canton, Gerard Conroy and his wife Leslie of Santa Barbara, CA, Joseph Conroy of San Diego, CA, John Conroy and his husband Steven Monast of Providence, RI, and Philip Conroy and his wife Diane of Norwood. Cherished grandmother of Timothy Conroy and his wife Jennifer, Laurie Marr and her husband Patrick, Beth Conroy, Kristen Kennedy and her husband Seamus, Erin Conroy and fiancé Matthew Savastano, Joseph Conroy, Patrick Conroy, and Jared Conroy. Great-grandmother of Quinn, Reece, Lena and Brennan Conroy; Peter, James, Teresa and the late Brienna Marr; Hannah and the late Annabelle and Ciara Kennedy; and Charlotte Savastano. Teresa is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 20th at 8:00am from the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street, Norwood, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 547 Washington Street, Norwood. Interment will follow the Mass in Highland Cemetery, Norwood. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4:00-8:00pm in the funeral home.
