We knew Carole and Bill many years ago (early to mid-70s) when we were at Hollins in Roanoke. We lost touch but met up again with them when they moved back to Baltimore and we were in Northern Virginia. The reunion felt so comfortable, as if we hadn't been apart for so many years. A visit to or from Carole and Bill was something we so enjoyed. We lost touch again after Bill's passing but frequently thought of Carole and what her friendship meant to us long ago and more recently. Carole was always gracious and an obvious lover of the arts. Our lives were richer through knowing her. We were saddened by Bill's passing and now again with Carole's. Our sincerest condolences to Michael and Elizabeth. You likely don't remember us but we knew you when. Carole will be missed. 

Carole and I were good friends with many of the same interests.  We enjoyed going out to shop, eat, and share stories about our granddaughters.  Carole was a very intelligent women who love the theater, music, the arts, and city life.  I will greatly miss her.

Carole is greatly missed by all her friends here at Oak Crest.  My fondest memories are those shared at the Acorn Pub  and in the Quarry Grille.  She loved her family, and was especially proud of Grayson.  Her dedication to the City Lit Project was extensive, and I will make a memorial donation in Carole's name.  Carole, you are loved.

Although I never knew Carole, Mike's loss evokes memories of the loss of my mother and the ensuing emotional grief that I didn't know was within me. My deepest sympathy to Mike and to all who feel her loss.

My husband, Dick, and I were very fond of Carole, and have missed her company.  Dick had been president of the March of Dimes a long time ago, and Carole had brought the other post-polio patients at Oak Crest to a gathering at our apartment.  An awful disease but Carole was strong and a fighter.  I remember that the last time I saw her she said that she wanted to bring Nola here to see our pictures - but that was not to be.
God bless her and keep her in his loving arms.  She is loved and missed
