Chris, this poem by Ellen Brenneman made me think of you and helps with the grief I feel having your life cut short.

“Don’t think of him as gone away
his journey’s just begun,
life holds so many facets
this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
that we could know today
how nothing but our sadness
can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched

and he was loved so much.”

I spent some time with Chris at Allison’s wedding.  He was sweet and quiet,  a very gentle soul. I remember asking him if he wanted a bottle of water and we talked about how its okay not to drink alcohol at weddings and that we were probably the only sober people there.  He laughed about that. He was taken from this world too soon.

I am so sorry for your loss. My heart breaks for all of you but the love that you have for your family was always so special even down to your furry friends. You were so very proud of Chris and Nicole and it truly showed by the way we spoke of them. Someway I hope this helps to make you smile again. Love and prayers to you all. 


It’s hard to believe Chris is gone. I am use to seeing him walking their dog. Chris, Kody (their dog) and I had developed a great friendship. They would walk down the street every day and stop. Chris and I would talk while I played with and rubbed Kody. Chris and I would both laugh when I would stop rubbing Kody because he would take his paw and pull my hand back on him. Then he would lean on me to make sure he knew if I moved. Chris would tell me how Kody stopped in front of my porch everyday even if I wasn’t outside. He said there were times he would have to really pull Kody along if I wasn’t there. I looked forward to seeing them both each day. Chris was always very quiet with most people, but I got to know him very well. We talked about his college classes and how it would be beneficial to his future. I am going to miss talking to him. R.I.P. my friend.

I am so sorry for what your family is going through. The love your family shares and your love for Chris will never die. Keeping everyone in thought and prayer!
