Elroy Washington Lambert

He received his formal education in the Brunswick County school system.

At an early age, Elroy accepted Christ as his personal savior, was baptized and joined Taylors Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Elroy worked hard all his life. Walking to church in the blistering heat, cold and/or sleet came easy for him.

He was married to Jeanette Weems of Baltimore, Maryland . From this union there was one son Letroyd Lambert, and one step-son, Ernie Smith.

Elroy was employed by the General Electric Corporation in Columbia, Maryland for 35 years until the plant closed. He then went to work for The Holsom Company for 10 years until his retirement.

On, Sunday November 9, 2014 God decided to take back what belonged to Him and closed his eyes and Elroy went on to Glory to a well deserved rest.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his son, Letroyd Lambert Sr.; his daughter-in-law, Rochelle Melvin Lambert; two grandchildren Letroyd Lambert Jr. and Lakayla Lambert; his step-son Ernie Smith; his step daughter-in-law Rhee Smith; six step grandchildren; one brother, Simon W. Lambert of Blackstone, Virginia; three sisters, Marina Lambert of Blackstone, Virginia, Gloria Alice Lambert Love of Elk Grove, California and Lorraine Marie Lambert McKinney of Elkridge, Maryland; one step brother George Lambert of Baltimore, Maryland; three step-sisters Mae Trotter of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary Yancey of Baltimore, Maryland, and Barbara Lambert of Blackstone, Virginia; one uncle, Hubert Taff Jones of Washington, D.C.,; one aunt, Helene Mae Macklin Jones of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; two brothers-in-law, Rev. Joseph Rowlette of Meredithville, Virginia, Earl Love of Elk Grove, California; one sister-in-law, Inez Lambert of Reistertown, Maryland. A special caregiver Nichelle Wilson and a host of nieces and nephews,cousins and friends.

He was proceded in death by his mother and father; two brothers; Charles Eddie Lambert and Truman Eugene Lambert; three sisters, Rev. Marion Lee Lambert Rowlette, Georginna Lambert and Lula Mae Lambert Moore and one step brother Sterling Lambert.
