Franklin Benjamin Dawson, Sr., age 98, of Perry Hall, MD passed away on April 18, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late Agnes C. Dawson (nee Braun); devoted father of Marie A. DeMarco and her husband Michael, Margaret M. Jackson, and Franklin B. Dawson, Jr. and his wife Tamara; loving grandfather of Craig Jackson and his wife Melanie, Julia Friskey and her husband Michael, Jeffrey Dietrich and his wife Heather, Nicholas Dawson, and Jacob Dawson; cherished great-grandfather of Cecelia Friskey, Joshua Friskey, Declan Jackson, and Dawson Dietrich; dear brother of thirteen siblings.
Frank proudly fought in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a lifelong member of the American Legion and a blood donor. Frank was also a 72 year member of the International Association of Sheet Metal Workers, and the senior member of local #100. He worked many jobs sites over the years, but his favorite was the Cathedral of Mary Our Queen. Frank was recognized by Boy Scout Troop # 746 for his years of service as an Assistant Scoutmaster.
Family and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Monday, April 22, 2024, from 3-5 P.M. and 7-9 P.M. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 23, 2024, at 10 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church (Fullerton, MD). Interment will follow at Gardens of Faith Memorial Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Frank’s name to the Salvation Army at www.salvationarmyusa.org
