It is with much sadness that we not only lost our next door neighbor of 37 years, we lost a good friend.  Fred was a very caring man, a hard worker, a true family man and a devoted Christian.  His strong Christian faith helped him through the lost of his wife Dorothy and then the lost of his very close friend Addie.  You always knew, without a doubt, his family was #1 in his life.  He would talk so proudly about his son, his daughter, his grandchildren and his great
grandchildren.  Fred was also a very independent man.  There were
so many times we were able to help him with things but if he could do it himself, he would.  Even up to our last snow storm when I saw Fred standing on top of a huge mound of snow  shoveling off the top of his car. I told him he needed to get down before he fell down and I would do it.   He finally gave in but not without a lecture on how he could do it himself.  In recent years, he would sit out on his back porch and we would go over to keep him company.  We would hear even  more interesting stories.  We thank God for those special times we had together.  We will miss him very much!!  Our sincere sympathy goes out to his entire family. Words cannot express the sadness of hearing of Fred’s passing. Fred was a special individual who after the passing of his wife Dorothy, decided to take care of my Mother who had recently lost her husband. Fred and his family not only welcomed my Mother but they accepted my family and made us all feel like special friends. When my sister Nancy was dying of cancer, Fred took my Mother to Michigan so she could be with her. This was not an easy time for anyone, but Fred showed us all how a Christian takes care of others. During my visit to see my sister right before her passing I was able to spend some special quiet and relaxing time with Fred. We talked about many things, but it was his love and concern for his family and now my Mother and her family that impressed me the most. I was able to spend other quality time with Fred and his family in Maryland and I could see the example and influence Fred had on his family. Fred was so proud of all of them. Thank you Diane and Glenn and your family’s for sharing Fred with all of us and welcoming all of my mother’s family into your household. I will truly miss the wonderful Christian man that Fred was and his willingness to take care of my Mother in her later years.

Barry & I met Fred and Dottie when we went to Florida to visit his parents, Addie and Dick.  Several times, we played cards, laughed and tipped a couple. Then we lost both Dorothy and Dad (Dick) almost simultaneously.  Addie and Fred met to console each other and with that they took a chance on life again. We are so grateful that Fred came into Addie's life and ours.

We lost Addie a few years ago and we still feel the missing puzzle piece. Our hearts go out to Fred's family. We will miss him too.

After my dad passed away, Fred was the best thing that could happen to my mother, Addie.  They were together for 13 wonderful years.  We will miss him very much. With love in our hearts for you and your family.
