George & his beautiful wife," Mealie" (hope I spelled it right) were 2 of the first people I met when I started dating Vince Pecora in 1969. They lived in the neighborhood & were best friends of my mother-in-law. I admired them so much from that very first day. With such a big family (mostly boys, except the wonderful Debbie), they were consistently kind, calm, & friendly every time I saw them. Throughout the years, we didn't see quite as much of each other, but, when we did, it was like we had been with them yesterday. A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to spend the day with George & Debbie for a cooking lesson. He taught the 2 of us how to make ricotta gnocchi. I still have the handwritten notes & I treasure that day so much. RIP George Esposito. You were one of a kind.





My Dad and Uncle George were buddies, so I was fortunate to spend time with Uncle George and Aunt Mealie outside of the usual family events. I cherish those memories. 

One of my favorite memories with Uncle George was when Dad and I visited him in Stella Maris a few years ago. It was supposed to be a quick visit, but he stopped everything to ensure we were well fed and had plenty to drink. Whenever I look at a can of Sprite, I see his face insisting I take one and I smile at the memory. (The conversation went a little like this: “Do you want some Sprite?” “No thank you, Uncle George. The water is fine.” “Are you sure?” “Yes, I am good.” “I’ll go get you a Sprite anyway.”)

Speaking of Stella Maris – he was popular! Everyone knew Uncle George. Whenever I saw him in the cafeteria, he made his rounds to what appeared to be every table. But he always made time for family. 

His generosity, kindness, and friendliness will forever remain in my heart. Rest in peace, Uncle George. Enjoy the reunion in Heaven.

You are the epitome of Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-grandfather and set the bar high!!!  As an outsider of the family, you always welcomed us into your wonderful world and showed love and consideration to all.  We appreciated that you took the time to come visit my Mom at Stella Maris and loved playing bingo!!  So glad you are with your sweetheart now ...Rest in peace Mr George.... May your Memory be eternal!!

Poppop,
You were a outstanding example of what a Husband, Dad, and Grandfather should be. I can only strive to meet the standard you have set. Going to Mommom and Poppop's house every week was a staple of my childhood, especially during the holidays. Picking veggies from the garden, watching Orioles/Colts/Ravens games, playing baseball in the back yard and hand hockey  or un-sanctioned boxing matches in the  basement (don't worry my uncles made sure it was "safe") are just some of the highlights. You will be missed but the memories I will have forever.

Uncle George was a wonderful man to our entire family. He was so thoughtful to his nieces and nephews especially getting us all together at a luncheon at Christmas time and we all had a wonderful time laughing and drinking wine and he was very generous. He would never let us pay. He didn't want to hear it  
He was a wonderful husband to our Aunt Mealie  and a great father to all his children and his grand n great children
He was also so Humble and Kind  
I will miss him but never forget the memories that we had and those will stay with me forever

I met George over forty years ago as a member of the St. Vincent De Paul Society. He was a kind and gentle man of great faith. He was generous with his time and devoted to helping others in need.  I know that George was a wonderful father because he was such a great husband to his Meile. I will miss you and your emails. Rest In Peace.

My most vivid memories of Uncle George start 5 years ago when my mother went to live at Stella Maris.  He visited my mother ~ often with treats, cookies, chocolates, playing cards or family photos.  He was a ray of sunshine.  We always enjoyed his company.  During this time 'The Cousins Luncheon' came into full swing,  starting small at St. E's cafe, then moving to Mama Lucia's where Uncle George generously hosted and treated us all to a delicious Italian feast.  The best part was all of us being together.  I will miss him, his smile and his gentle ways.  Rest in Peace Uncle George.  

Uncle George was always so nice ,kind and friendly to me.  I knew him thru Nick Coppolino as Nick was my boyfriend.  I saw him at Stella Maris numerous times and remember a time we met up with him and he brought me a small bottle of white wine.  I am so sorry for your loss.  I will be praying for the whole Esposito family.  I will miss Uncle George!!!

My memories growing up of Uncle George were during the holidays. I will always remember the long table he would have of  all these amazing desserts. He was such a good baker. I admired him when he was older for the fact that he wouldn’t let anyone do for him. Very independent and I respected that. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone. George Esposito was the most wonderful father anyone could hope for.   He showed his children the true meaning of love and devotion when he took care of Mom in her time of need.  Unselfish, giving, and tending to others was Dad's trademark.  He set a shining example of what a good husband and father should be.   Having Dad live with us his final two months was our gift to him but more importantly his gift to us.  We enjoyed and will always treasure this time with him.
