A devoted Catholic, Gerry was a member of a religious order and volunteered as a choir member at their current parish, St. Joseph's. Her other great passions were the Baltimore Orioles and her two Cocker Spaniels.
Gerry is survived by her loving husband David J. O’Keeffe, six step children, Timothy Joseph O’Keeffe, David Anthony O’Keeffe, Mary O’Keeffe Knapp, Elizabeth O’Keeffe Elliott, Rosellen O’Keeffe Fry, Theresa O’Keeffe Clarke, 13 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren. She cherished the children and grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her siblings, Charles Riggs Jr., Mary Jean Riggs Owings, Jackie Riggs Henning, and Grace Ann Miller with many surviving nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, Inc., 9705 Belair Road, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00 PM. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 21, 2022 at 10:00 AM at Saint Joseph's Church, 8420 Belair Road, Nottingham, MD 21236. Interment will follow at 2 pm located at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
