She was the daughter of Anna Marie Hebbel and Augustus Leimkuhler, both predeceased her.
She grew up in East Baltimore, one of nine children. Her brothers and sisters, and their spouses, pre-deceased her. Helena is survived by her children – Kathleen (Bill) Kreul; Judy (Chuck) Savini; Mike (Mary) Weber; Jeannine (Lew) Williams; Ken Weber; and 12 grandchildren, many great- and great-great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She was divorced from Frank Weber, Jr. who pre-deceased her.
During World War II, she worked as a secretary for the Army at Fort Meade. After the War, she worked for a law firm until she married. They moved to the suburbs of Baltimore City where she raised five children. As they grew older, she began working as a secretary for Tulkoff Horseradish Company and became a vital member of that company. She retired after 20 years, then returned to work part-time for another five years.
Helena always enjoyed sewing – she made mother-of-the-bride dresses for two of her daughters’ weddings, several Halloween costumes, and later in life started making quilts. Unfortunately her eyesight began to fade so she was unable to continue her hobby. She always enjoyed reading, primarily fiction and cook books.
Helena will be remembered for her compassion and caring, her ready smile and joyful love of family.
