We were still in High School when Jack announced that “You were his girl” Shirley. You remained ‘his girl’ forever.

Miss Shirley,

My mom just told me of Mr. Sam's passing and our family is so very sorry.   Mr. Sam was a joy to be around, was never at a lost for words,  and would continually tell us Marine Corps stories involving Dad and Mr. Bob - some which probably shouldn't have been repeated to us kids!!!!!

He was definitely one of a kind and will be greatly missed.   We hope you find peace and comfort in your memories.

Shirley, I was very sad and surprised to hear of Jack's passing. I have fond memories of you both. I hope you will be ok. Stephan told me the sad news and also sends his condolences. It has been many years since I have heard from you. I wish you the best in the coming years.

We are very sorry for your loss.  Jack was such a nice person and we enjoyed being around him.  We will always have fond memories of both you and Jack in the company of the Deckers, Costas and our little group.  Our circle just keeps shrinking.  We send our sympathy to you and your family.  Due to the Covid, we do not go out anywhere so we will be unable to attend the viewing and funeral for Jack.  Please know that we are thinking of you and wishing you comfort.
