On June 11, 2025 James E. "Jim" Buckmaster passed away. He was the beloved husband of 45 years to Elizabeth A. Buckmaster (nee Stevens); devoted father of Scott Buckmaster and his wife Alisha, Jason Buckmaster and his wife Jen, and Brian Buckmaster; cherished grandfather of Morgan, Madalyn, Aubrey, Dustin, and Andrew; loving son of the late Edward. D. Buckmaster, Jr. and Lillie A. Buckmaster; devoted brother of Pat Waters and her late husband Joe, and Sharon DellaRose and her husband Nick; dear brother-in-law of Jennifer Donovan and her late husband Dave, and Victor Stevens; also survived by his loving nieces, nephews, family and friends.
James retired from the Baltimore City Police Department as a Lieutenant after over 20 years of service. He then went on to work for the Maryland Department of Education, DORS, until his retirement in July 2024.
Relatives and friends are invited to gather at Schimunek Funeral Home Inc., 9705 Belair Rd. Nottingham, MD 21236 on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, where a Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at 11:00 AM. Interment private.
