John Stamatakos passed away on January 27, 2026, in Baltimore County, MD. He was a loving and devoted husband, to Valerie, of 19 years, and the best, most caring and wonderful father to our precious daughter, Maria.
John, “Yianni”, was also a cherished son, to his dear parents, James and Maria. He was also a brother, to his beautiful sister, Eleni, and he was an amazing brother-in-law, to Greg.
His many cousins, locally, and extended family members, also in Canada and Greece, cherished him. He brought joy and humor with him and was fun to be with. His countless friends treasured his presence and company.
John was also a dedicated and diligent compliance analyst. He had many good friends in his banking industry for over 30 years. He was meticulous and a leader in his chosen field of work.
John had a lifelong love of sports. He played baseball growing up on several teams throughout his schooling. He enjoyed watching and attending many college and professional football, basketball and baseball games. And was given extra access to many sporting events by his brother-in-law, Greg, who is in the media industry.
No words can express the loss we feel. John was a powerful force, always working, and doing for his family. He was a man of integrity and high standards and unmatched commitment and devotion.
It was our blessing, that God placed this wonderful man in our family. He was our gift from God, and we thank God for the honor of this man.
Rest in peace, my love, with our Lord and Savior, our Redeemer, Jesus Christ.
