Obituary of Robert Eugene Siemek
On October 10, 2021, Robert Eugene Siemek passed away at his home with his wife by his side. He was the beloved husband of Diane Elizabeth Siemek (nee Rohrs); devoted son of Frances Siemek and the late Thomas Siemek; dear brother of Phyllis Marroney and her late husband Dino, Lois Miller and her husband Norman, and Thomas Siemek and his wife Marylin. Also survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews, as well as great-nieces and nephews. Robert served in the United States Air Force as an Airman First Class, where he was a member of the Funeral Honor Guard. Robert had a long career in food inspection. He was a Processing Inspector with the USDA, as well as an Assistant Chief of Meat and Poultry Inspection with the Maryland Department of Agriculture until 1991. He was a current member of the Blue Heron Model Yacht Club. In earlier years, he enjoyed field archery with the Vignt Neuf Archery Club, and playing golf at the Pleasant Valley Golf Course. As a young man he was an avid bowler in various leagues and tournaments. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at the Schimunek Funeral Home, 9705 Belair RD, Nottingham, MD 21236, on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 1-3 PM, at which time a memorial service will begin. Interment services will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Robert’s name to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org, or the Fallston Animal Rescue Movement at www.fallstonanimalrescue.org.
