Brenda Joyce Ponte

Brenda Ponte was born to Stanley and Myrtle on November 18th, 1947. She graduated from Calaveras High School in 1964 and had the honor of being named “Calaveras County order of DeMolay Sweetheart” her senior year. Brenda married shortly after high school and had 2 children.

Brenda was a very hard worker and was loyal to many companies that appreciated her. She worked as a Drug store cashier, a telephone operator, a hospital billing clerk, and retired 2011 from the San Joaquin County Child Support office in Stockton, CA. She moved to Novato, CA in 2016 where she became an active volunteer at the Margaret Todd Center and the Novato Theater Company.

Brenda was preceded in death by her mother and father Stanley and Myrtle. A brother Douglas and 2 sisters, Rosalyn and Maxine, a daughter, Gina Ponte, whom she shared with her former spouse, Larry Ponte.

She is survived by her son Edward Ponte, sister Sandra, brother Stanley, grandson Justin, and granddaughter Isabelle, and several cousins, nieces and nephews and her dearly loved cat “Kitty” (who will be available for adoption at the Marin Humane Society)

A public celebration of life service will be held at 2:00pm on September 17, 2022 at Keaton's Redwood Chapel 1801 Novato, CA with a celebration of her life reception following at her son’s place of residence. In lieu of flowers the family requests that a donation be made to Marin Humane Society 171 Bel Marin Keys Blvd. Novato, CA
