January 2, 1947-August 22, 2010
Ken “KJ” Jones, age 63, passed away August 22, 2010, at his home. He was born on January 2, 1947 to Evelyn and Floyd Jones in San Francisco. Ken graduated from Mission High School and City College of San Francisco.
He lead a life of civil service beginning with his duty in the Army Reserves, three years as a Sr. Deputy Sheriff for the City and County of San Francisco, and then in the San Francisco Fire Department where he served the bulk of his career. Retiring as a Lieutenant after serving 34 years, Ken left the firefighter job he loved almost as much as the Giants and the 49ers.
His retirement years were spent traveling with his wife, golfing, completing a variety of gardening and construction projects and relaxing at their Russian River home.
Ken is survived by his wife Nancy, sister Thelma, sons Matthew and Scott, step-daughter Cynthia, daughters-in-law Kelly and Kirsten, son-in-law Darren, grandchildren Kaitlyn, Reece & Noah and dogs Toya and Lili.
KJ was adored and loved by many. With his warm heart and generous nature he made even the newest acquaintance feel like a life long friend. His quick wit and fun sense of humor kept everyone laughing even in difficult situations.
