Donald Phillip Martin, 68, beloved husband of 39 years to Dorothy (Zink) Martin; proud father of Colin (Libby) Martin; brother to Bob Martin, and loving uncle to many. Don, a long-time resident of Palos Heights passed away on December 27, 2013. Don was born on April 29, 1945 in Chicago and was a graduate of South Shore High School. He was an executive at U.S. Steel South Works where he worked for 19 years and then owned The Pit Stop 500 in Beverly for 20 years. Don will always be remembered for his dedication to his family, his quick witted sense of humor, love of boating, flying, traveling, classic, cars, and his life long friendships.
