Harold will fondly be remembered for his devotion to family, faith, and country. There was always a camera in front of his face and he was always ready with a joke to tell. Valuing education, he was devoted to lifelong learning, active in Delta Nu Alpha, becoming president of his chapter.
Harold was an accomplished world traveler and would share his passion and photos with anyone seated on the couch with his famous slide shows. Even in his 90s, he experienced zip lining and a trip around the racetrack. If waltz music was playing his arms would move into conducting position or if you were lucky, you were twirled around the dance floor.
In civilian life he worked as a traffic manager for the Grand Trunk Railroad and later Continental Steel Corporation. Harold was a 73 year member of many Masonic organizations serving as Past Worshipful Master of Masonic Lodge #1171, Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite and Medinah Shriners. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Evergreen Park.
Harold was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, proudly serving his country from 1942 through 1945. Harold's wishes were to be cremated and a memorial service celebrating his life will be held at a later date.
