Dear Patrick, Trish, Lori, Alan and family:

Our history with our dear Aunt Irma began many years ago in our hearts. She is remembered in her laughter  joy, and the wonderful memories we have of her.

One of our history making vacations to the “Five Star Cabins” (ha-ha) at Lake Ripley is where the stories began…
But as the saying goes, 
‘What happened in Ripley stays in Ripley”
 It was the BEST of times!!!

Remembering our beloved aunt Irma will always bring big simile's and warm sunshine. She was a grand lady and we were blessed to have her in our lives…

I went to school with Irma from Kindergarten on. She was a delight to be around. We had the good fortune to have her and Bernadine join us for our monthly reunion dinners/lunches here a while back. I know her family will miss her greatly.  My condolences are with you all.  Diane Domkoski Weeks

I feel privileged that I have been asked to say a few words today to help celebrate the life of Irma Stingel,  who is my god mother.  It's unfortunate that such a disease as Alzheimer's was the thing that took her from us.

There was nothing in life that Irma wanted more than for her family to be together. If she had her way we all would have lived under one roof.  She loved and adored her husband Casey, her 2 children Lori and Patrick so much and made sure they were always taken care of. Her grandchildren Brian & Jessica, what a joy they  brought  to her life along with the addition of 2 adorable great grandsons, Ben & Kane. 

 Irma's life started to crumble and go down hill drastically  when the last of her siblings left this life.  She just wanted to be with her husband Casey , her mother, sister and twin brothers. Well on Monday, December 29th, her wish came true. She is now dancing with Casey to the tune of "For the good times",  her twin brothers are aggravating the heck out of her, she and her sister are watching soap operas, golden girls, Walton's, little House on the Prairie, Mash and the movie Dirty Dancing over and over again and is now probably even dancing with the one and only Patrick Swayze that was her all time favorite movie. I think they went through at least 3 VHS tapes because it had to be replaced from watching them so much that they wore them out. You know that clip at the end, when those 2 older ladies are throwing off their minks and start dancing,  my mom and Aunt Irma would always say that was them every time .   I could also picture the 2 of them with drink umbrellas in there hair.  They always loved their daiquiris from the Sand Bar.  

Irma was a women of class. Oh my gosh, do not touch the hair. That women and her hair spray. There was never a hair out of place. I remember one day when I went into see her when she was living in the assisted living facility that Lori said she used a whole can of hair spray within a matter of days.  She loved to primp. For every outfit she had a purse, shoes and jewelry to match. My mom and her dressed alike all the time. I remember one time I took my mom to the Emergency Room and Aunt Irma was with us, they had matching outfits on. The ER Doctor looked at me and I said " that is Danny Divito and Arnold Schwartznegger (like that movie the Twins, and with the different height of them two).  

She loved to laugh. You could get her giggling, I can hear it now. 

One summer she was up in Boulder Jct on High Lake at Pam and Dave's place and sitting on the couch watching movies because my mom and her would never wanted to go outside because of the bears and bugs and Dave picked up a dead mouse that had gotten into his fishing pole room and started dangling it over her head, as he always loved to tormented her, and everyone started laughing. She asked what are you guys laughing about. When she turned around Dave hid it. Well after the 3rd time Dave accidentally dropped it in her hair, a birds nest, and it fell into her lap. She started screaming and asked what was that, Dave said one of his fishing lures. She never did find out it was a real mouse. Well Dave she knows now. 

When she would stay in Lake Mills, never fear, the dog treat bandit would strike. They would put dog treats in Aunt Irma's bed and then when she would go to bed later that night and get in she would feel them. She would say, that son of a b.......... Then I would get the phone call, and she knew that Dean and Kyle were the ones up to no good. You think she would of caught on. But never fails, they would strike again. 

In here younger years the women loved to cook. She made the best sauerkraut on earth. Everyone wanted her to cook it for our special events. She would hand shreds pounds of cabbage with the help of Casey to get the job done. She also enjoyed frying polish tacos that could get up to over 15 dozen at times, from the time up at Lake Ripley to parties on Larson Ave. I am so grateful I learned those recipes from her along with her stuffed pizza. 

Also there was a time when she lived on Racine in Chicago behind this bar when her and Uncle Casey first got married, we were making homemade perogies and a mouse went running across the floor and Lori jumped up and her belly button got caught on a corner of a chair and when she landed she landed on the mouse and killed. We laughed hysterically. It's stories like these that bring back all the special moments we have shared.

Lori and I were able to share many special trips with her. Lori, Patrick and I in our younger years of our trips to Florida, to our girls trips to Branson even our long over night weekends and her cruise with her sister and friends. Her trip to Cancun with her family for the renewal of Lori and Alan's vows. What great memories that will live on forever. 

Everyone loved and accepted Irma. Al's family, the Augustyniaks,  opened up there hearts and home to their  special events and included her in, even on the gift giving at Christmas.  She was always so excited to share what she got from each and everyone of you. Al's mom would pick her up and take her to plays and functions and she would be so excited. 

We all have some special and fond memories of Irma. Please continue to tell those stories. 

We know that she left behind some aching hearts that loved her so sincere, We never shall and never will forget you Irma dear.

Irma, your love for life and the love for your family has truly showed through your life. Your kind heart and soul is a reminder of how life should be. May you be at peace now. Much love.

Thank you Aunt Irma for always being so happy and loving!  We had many wonderful memories over the years at Lake Mills and in Rockford!  You were always so kind, and we will miss your beautiful smile and laugh!

Mom, each life you've touched is better because you've been in it. You had that way of making people laugh and feel like old friends so quickly-your heart was just that big. I'm so glad you're finally back with all of your family and your love-what a celebration that has to be. I'm sure you're rocking those angel wings and the sparkly-est matching shoes. I had the honor and privilege to be this wonderful ladies godchild. What a blessing it was. I will cherish every moment that I was able to spend with her. The memories will live on.  My heart goes out deeply to my cousins and there families. She will be deeply missed. Love you Aunt Irma.

Please accept my family's condolences with the loss of your Mom.  She is definitely in a better place with her husband and other family members.
