I am saddened to hear of John's passing. He was one of the nicest people I have ever met and I was fortunate to know him in the influential part of my life. My condolences to his family.

Mr. Canning will truly be missed, I was his secretary until he retired and every year after I would miss him singing in his office and his advice about TSP. My prayers go out to the family

I am saddened to hear about the passing of John, one of the truly nice guys. I have not been in contact with John since we were teens in Worth, but I have many fond memories of playing sports together and enjoying him performing with the "Dontays".

My heart goes out to the Canning family.  I was very sad to hear of 
Mr. Canning's passing. I worked with him in Finance from 1992 to 2007.  He was one of the best managers in the postal service.  A real people person.  I really enjoyed the Big 53 Meetings when John would make up trivia music games or would get a band together consisting of postal managers to be the entertainment. John Canning will truly be missed!

I was fortunate to work with John at the Central Illinois District. He was truly one of the nicest, most genuinely kindest men you would ever want to meet. No matter how busy he was, he would always have a minute for you.

John was instrumental in my career from the very beginning. I made spreadsheets for him before I was even in IS. Later, he promoted me to Manager, IS. He was always a fair and incredibly intuitive manager and mediator. It was a tremendous honor to work with, and for John. RIP.

John will be missed at our OASIS meetings.  He always shared a smile or an encouraging word with others coping with sight loss.  John will be missed.  He was dearly loved by all.

I was so saddened to hear of John's passing yesterday. The last time I had spoken with John was at the Peace Pasta Fundraiser with you, Judy. John was such a down to earth person and he will truly be missed. Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.
